Mr and Mrs Murray were shocked when they came home and found their new Rattan Sun Loungers had been stolen from their garden.

"We’d only just bought the Rattan Sun Loungers and were really looking forward to using them during the summer," said Mrs Murray.

The thieves are believed to have climbed over their rear fence to in order to steal the Rattan Garden Furniture.

"We’ll claim on our housing insurance and purchase a couple more Rattan Sun Loungers but it’s very annoying," continued Mrs Murray.

Joe Mills had been manager at Rattan Furniture Factory, a maker and seller of Asian style Rattan Garden Furniture.

However the Ohio company shut its doors at the end of 2012.

Mills decided to start a new rattan furniture manufacturing business a few weeks before the Rattan Furniture Factory closed.

"The Rattan Furniture Factory was primarily a a manufacturer of Rattan Outdoor Furniture – Rattan Sun Loungers, Rattan Cube and other Rattan Patio Furniture. However they also did manufacture other Garden Furniture.

Mills’ company now manufactures and retails stylish, practical and inexpensive Rattan Furniture from its factory in eastern Ohio.

Some of the company’s Rattan Sun Loungers come with scatter cushions, unlike the Rattan Cube, but the majority do not.

When Mills started the company, he advertised the garden furniture to mainly in rattan garden furniture magazines.

Parliament Donates Rattan Garden Furniture

After coming under presssure for its extravagant spending the parliament spokesman has said says it will put budget constaints for the purchase of Outdoor Rattan Furniture.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DoT) says it will relocate some rattan makers working in Hai Phong to other Rattan Furniture producing areas.

DoT Minister Anh Dung said on Monday in Phnom Penh that the government would help Rattan Furnitur manufacturers relocate from Hai Phong move to areas of high unemployment.

Rattan Furniture is seen as a crucial industry in a country with few natural resources.

Most of Vietnam’s Rattan Furniture output — including Cube Garden Furniture, Rattan Sun Loungers and other Rattan Patio Furniture — is exported to the West and Japan.

The DoT’s plan offer tax incentives to Rattan Furniture makers to employ more workers.

Last year, the country’s Rattan Furniture exports were valued at $82.5 million.
